Scott Weiland (STP, Velvet Revolver)

In early 2008, the kick-ass rock band Velvet Revolver (including various members of Guns N' Roses in band and crew), fired their lead singer, Scott Weiland (previously known for his work as lead singer of the very famous band Stone Temple Pilots, or STP) due to drug abuse to the point where it was simply not possible anymore for him to lead his band to fame - and no, however good a guitarist Slash may be, he isn't suitable for the job ;). Slash and co. had their reasons for firing Weiland - for one, he kept passing out on stage - not very convenient...so near the end of their Libertad tour, it was announced to a great deal of sorrow that Velvet Revolver was, temporarily and after this tour, no longer.
Scott Weiland's P.R. men covered it all up by making sure of a Stone Temple Pilots reunion tour, and VR announced that they would soon begin their quest for a new frontman - this guy is to be announced in the fall of 2009; YES, VR is alive and kicking...well, sorta, cuz Slash and Duff McKagan have side projects. Possible frontmen could include the popular Lenny Kravitz, or ex-Gunner Izzy Stradlin - that would be the closest to a Guns N' Roses reunion since 1992!
Anyway everything turned out alright in the end: the Velvet Revolver fans are looking forward to the mysterious new line-up, the Guns N' Roses fans are crossing their fingers, and the STP fans are happy cuz their band is back together. And they all lived happily ever after.
